Simon

Description

Simon used to live with his sister, Ethel, and grandma Eudora on the beach between Kelpie Kingdom and Saguaro Kingdom. The beach is unoccupied so they lived on their own in a little house. Their main food was fish, and fishing skills are passed down the family. It's considered dangerous to live on your own outside of a nation, though. This is because goblin thieves target people that are alone since they are easier than breaking into a nation. Especially since there can be no legal consequences. One day, Simon's family was a victim of goblin thieves. The goblins took what they had, and kidnapped them in the process. They were separated since they spread out to get to Kuun Kingdom from different directions. Simon's path happened to be through the Oak Forest. Canon found Simon tied up in the cart and being taken by a couple of goblins along with some of his belongings. Canon decided to save Simon and defeated the Goblins in a fight. Simon cried to Canon about what had happened to his family. Canon makes it another goal to rescue Simon's family from Kuun Kingdom as soon as they can. For now, Simon shares a home with Canon and stays in the Oak Forest with the rest of the group.

Simon is a prankster and often pranks his friends a lot, especially Marmalade, Simon, and Judith. He can be a bit annoying to be around because of that, but also because he teases way too much. He is an ocean enthusiast and likes anything related to it. He is the second most knowledgable on that after Clementine. He throws anger fits sometimes because he hates being treated like a child, but usually just loses the argument and ends up apologizing and pouting.

Important Relationships

Marmalade

Marmalade is basically a sister to Simon. She is one of his frequent prank victims and they argue a lot like siblings do, but it's never anything that's actually serious. They tease each other often, especially about Clementine or Bradley. Marmalade just gets mad though, while Simon gets red and embarrassed.

Clementine

Simon has a crush on Clementine. He gets awkward around her often, but he likes to hang out with her and admire her when he does. He likes getting to talk to her about the ocean and gets amazed at how much information she knows. His feelings for her get worse whenever he gets saved from trouble by her too. Sometimes he feels a little bad when he is a bad influence on her and gets her in trouble. He likes to give trinkets or flowers to her (copying Bradley), and she keeps them all. The two of them often run off to be in a location by themselves, and get in trouble when they come back if they're caught being gone.

Canon

Simon sees Canon as a father figure. He's really greatful for being saved and for having someone that takes care of him the way that his sister and grandma did. He feels safe with Canon and only goes to him whenever he has any problems or misses his family. However, he wishes Canon wasn't so strict. He gets why he is, he experienced it by being kidnapped by goblin thieves, but he wants to be able to have fun too. He doesn't like feeling left out. Sometimes he throws fits and Canon has to deal with those. Simon usually ends up just apologizing though.

Bradley

Bradley is Simon's closest friend. But Simon bullies him a little too much to the point of tears with his pranks. He also teases him about Marmalade and how much he "fails" to make her like him. Simon talks to Bradley about Clementine or the ocean often. Bradley listens and writes in his journal whenever Simon talks about the ocean. Bradley used to tell things to Simon, but after he tells Marmalade and Clementine stuff he said to embarrass him, he doesn't really anymore.

Judith

Simon respects Judith a lot because she is the first and only person to ever successfully prank Simon back, but also avoid or turn his own pranks against him. Simon likes to play this game with her, and also hang out with her at the workshop sometimes. Judith teaches Simon tricks he didn't know, and it makes him excited to use them on his friends. He also gets amazed when she first shows him those.

Chimalli

Simon isn't that close to Chimalli since he is shy, but he waves at him whenever he sees him. Chimalli often helps Simon gather food but they have to be accompanied by Bradley at least.

Ethel

Ethel is Simon's big sister. He got his troublemaking behavior from her growing up. Ethel was sort of like the mother often since she needed to take care of both Simon and their grandma. Ethel was the one to teach almost all the skills Simon knows. They are practically the same when it comes to personality and behavior. They were close and Simon misses her every day.

Eudora

Eudora is Simon and Ethel's grandma. She is a bit old to do a lot of things so she would mostly stay in the house or sit at the shoreline and watch Simon and Ethel play in the water or fish. Simon would like to show her stuff he found at the beach and bring stuff back to her. He would make necklaces or charms out of shells and rocks to give to her, and she wears them all the time.
